KG Mobility Torres recall, “Due to some safety issue?”
KG Mobility Torres is recalling all vehicles produced and sold due to non-compliance with safety standards. Torres is KG Mobility's flagship SUV and was launched in the domestic market in July of last year.
KG Mobility is recalling all 58,103 units manufactured from July of last year to early this month. Of these, 56,225 vehicles have been sold, including 1,878 models that are yet to be sold.
The Torres recall is an issue where the driver does not hold the steering wheel for a certain period of time after turning on the lane keeping function, and the warning sound does not work properly when the function is automatically disengaged. Typically, when semi-autonomous driving functions such as highway driving assistance are deactivated, a warning sound is emitted so that the driver can be aware of this.
According to Table 27 of the Rules on Performance and Standards for Automobiles and Automobile Parts, when the lane-keeping function is canceled or the partially autonomous driving system requests a change in driving, the driver must be notified through visual and auditory signals.
In the case of Torres, it was confirmed that there was a design error in the front camera module software. Owners who have received a recall notice can visit the KG Mobility direct service center starting Thursday, the 28th of this month to receive action.
