“Coupe-type SUV worth 30 million won” Will the Torres Coupe come out like this?
The predicted figure for the KG Mobility Torres Coupe (tentative name) has appeared and is becoming a hot topic. Recently, spy shots of a vehicle presumed to be a Torres Coupe being developed by KG Mobility were released on an online community, and consumer interest is increasing.
The Torres Coupe prediction map released by New York Mammoth, a YouTuber specializing in domestic new car predictions, was created based on recently leaked coupe-type SUV spy shots. It features fender flares that increase the volume of the vehicle and a roof line that runs smoothly from the A-pillar to the end of the tailgate.
It is similar to the lines seen in the test car, presumed to be the Torres Coupe, that was previously revealed. Considering the size of the vehicle, it is estimated that wheels of about 18 to 20 inches will be used.
The interior that was leaked also features a two-spoke steering wheel with an oval horn cover. It features a wide display behind the steering wheel that extends all the way to the edge of the passenger seat. The center console is a bridge type that separates the driver's seat and passenger seat, and the gear is equipped with an electronic gear knob.
The KG Mobility Torres Coupe is expected to be unveiled as early as June next year. Previously, KG Mobility Chairman Kwak Jae-seon announced at a future development strategy press conference last September that the company plans to introduce a new coupe-type SUV in June next year, and this vehicle is known as the Torres Coupe.
However, it was confirmed that the coupe-type SUV test car that recently heated up the online community was not a Torres Coupe. The vehicle in question is known to be a test car for the Mahindra XUV E9, and the coupe-type SUV model to be released by KG Mobility is expected to be somewhat different.
The powertrain is expected to be gasoline and hybrid, plus an electric model. Judging by the recent specifications of KG Mobility's new car, it seems likely that lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries will be used in the electric vehicle model, and it is expected to be price competitive.
Meanwhile, KG Mobility plans to expand its lineup by launching a coupe-type SUV model next year and a Torres-based pickup truck model (O100) in the second half of the year.
